Went for a walk in the morning for a little over an hour, then headed over to the WWC for a swim, 2000 yds in 43 min. I slowed down intentionally, not wanting to go too hard on this morning. Pat came down around noon, and we went for a bike ride, since the rainy weather that was supposed to come through the area hadn't appeared. We rode down by the park and over to Pomerado Rd, taking it up to RB Rd and then following the old time trial route. Going at a good but not scorching pace, he had just had an injection of lubricating fluids in his knee and didn't want to push it. We rode up Espola Rd to Poway Rd and started heading downhill when Pat hit something, he thought it was a piece of metal, that blew out his rear tire in a manner that wasn't easily repairable. So I called Ann and she came to pick us up.

We hung out while we were waiting for her to show, then headed back home. After showering, we drove over to Orfila and had a sampling of 4 wines. Meh! The conversation was good, as was the atmosphere, but the wines were nothing remarkable, certainly not for the price of the tasting. We then drove down to Bud's in Kearny Mesa, following a recommendation from Charlie and Leslie about this restaurant. Cajun/Creole cuisine, nothing vegetarian for the main course except the house salad, which was just okay. Pat's dish was pretty good, according to him and Ann, but she didn't like her gumbo (not flavorful and served lukewarm). But again, the conversation was good, so it was a nice evening. We chatted for a while after we got home, then Pat left to drive back to Irvine.
