12-30-2023 Ride

This day started off strangely.  The weather forecast said rain but maybe not until later in the morning, so I rode over to the 4S Target, taking the route through the neighborhood and the longer route through the 4S Ranch neighborhood (up by the water tower).  I got there and met up with Jamil and Rob, and a little bit later Jed showed up.  While we were getting ready, it started to sprinkle, but we decided to ride anyway.  Down Camino del Sur, and the more we rode the harder the rain got.  Jamil and I raced up the CdS bump and, when we got to the turn onto San Dieguito Rd, we decided to call it quits.  The others agreed, so we rode back, taking the Paseo del Sur route to mix it up a little bit.  I pushed hard on the gradual climb up Paseo del Sur.  Took a video of the four of us, thoroughly wet, at the end of the ride, then I rode home (Jamil offered to drive me home, but I was really soaked and didn't want to ruin his car).  I rode up to Camino San Bernardo and then over to RB Rd, and from there home through the neighborhood.  Was completely drenched by the time I got home, even my booties were wet and my shoes and socks soaked through.

Avg speed = 15.2 mph. Total mileage = 17.3 mi
Avg power = 144 W. Weighted avg power = 190 W
Total elevation gain = 1180'
Avg heartrate = 129 bpm

Later, I cleaned up the area around where the bikes are stored, creating more space and organizing things somewhat, including printing out copies of the Bisikleta "award" certificates, framing them, and hanging them up in the garage.  I also went for a walk in the afternoon, about 45 min, and was fortunate enough to get home right before it started raining again.  Was a little chilly during the walk, I should have brought a jacket.
