Got up and packed most of the camping stuff into the car. Ann will need to load the food and her clothes. Then I rode over to the WWC and met Avi for a morning swim workout. Here was the list.
4 100 yd sets
Warmup
Extended strokes
Alternating fast and ow 25's
All-out effort
8 50's on either 75 sec or 90 sec
5 100's on either 2:15 or 2:30
2 100's on cool-down pace trying to reduce stroke count
I didn't do so well in the latter exercises with lowering my stroke count just need lots more practice and arm strengthening. Kevin also suggested that I reduce my head motions and make my breathing more efficient. This was hard be cause there was a lot of chop in the water, we were sharing a lane and there were a bunch of swimmers. It was definitely a hard workout for me, looking forward to seeing improvement over time. When I got home, I packed up my stuff and put it in the car, then I got ready to ride to Oceanside. Rode into Escondido and Centre City Pkwy the normal way behind the mall, then up to Mission Ave. I took that all the way to Las Posas Rd, where I turned left and rode over to San Marcos Blvd. Right turn there, over to Palomar Airport Rd and down to PCH. Then it was a straight shot into Oceanside, where I rode all the way to Harbor Dr and stopped at a Del Taco for a quesadilla and a soda to kill some time while Ann drove to meet me.

We drove the rest of the way to San Clemente State Beach. Our campsite was plain, a shade cover over the picnic table but no trees. It took about an hour to set up camp, then we had a snack and walked down to the beach, about a third of a mile away. We walked along the beach and back, had a quick dinner, then I took a cold shower and we got ready to go to the Cirque du Soleil show in Laguna Hills. The show had nice lighting, staging, and music, but the acts were pretty much the same kind as we saw at Circus Vargas for a lot less. Stopped for water at Ralph's and then drove back. Unfortunately, we found that the entrance closed at 10:00, which put me in a foul mood. So we parked outside the entrance and had to walk to the campsite. I wanted to get there quickly and walked ahead of Ann, and this got her really upset. I was tired and irritable, didn't really care. Went to sleep.
