Woke up early after a decent night's sleep (<>) and got ready for a bike ride. It was overcast at the start, didn't feel any mist on the way through the neighborhood. Rode through the 4S Ranch neighborhood up to Hunters Ridge Rd, turned right there and then got back on regular roads I've ridden. Over to the 4S Target, where Andy was already there. In time, Zac, Joey, Rob, and Jhonar made it as well. I had planned the route to be easy as well as the pace. We took off down CdS toward San Dieguito Rd. As soon as we got going, the mist moved in and got heavier. It never actually rained, but the roads were wet and it was kinda miserable. I kept in the middle of the pack until the turn, when me and Rob, with Jhonar close behind, pushed a little harder. Down to El Apajo, taking it and VdSF to Calzada del Bosque. Over to VdlV, where we turned to head toward the coast, with me trailing the others. Past El Camino Real, Aaron rode up and caught onto the group. Rob and Jhonar were riding pretty quickly out front and got ahead of us. We stopped briefly at the gas station just past the freeway, except for Rob and Jhonar, and had a very short break before continuing down to the coast. They were waiting there, and we all gathered up again to ride into Del Mar and over to Carmel Valley Rd. From there, we followed common routes back, on the 56 bike path to Carmel Valley Rd, then up to Camino del Sur. I was riding toward the back, making sure that Andy was holding up okay. Jhonar and Rob were doing just fine, even though they hadn't been riding recently. Back to Paseo del Sur, turning right there and taking it through the Del Sur neighborhood. We took it to Del Sur Ridge Rd and turned right there to ride over to Lone Quail Rd. To RB Rd and back to the starting point, where Andy and Jhonar had taken a shortcut. A short time spent with Zac and Joey on this, their last ride with us before they move up to the Bay Area, then I rode home via the normal route. This was an intentionally easy ride, aiming to get Andy back riding with us more regularly, maybe Jhonar as well.

Ann was at church when I got home, I had some lunch and watched TV for a while. Then I read upstairs, had a short nap, and eventually went into the garage and changed the oil on the scooter. It could have gone a little more miles until the oil change, but why not now. All went fairly smoothly. I wasted a little bit of oil by pouring the used oil in the bottle that still had some unused oil. In the evening, after dinner, the weather was ideal. Ann and I went out in the front yard and cleaned it by weeding and picking up leaves (me). Lots around the avocado tree, and there is still more to pick up.
