06-27-2025 Ride/Walk

Wanted to get an early ride in, so I was rolling by about 6:15. Started out on a reverse of the time trial route, which I find is generally more difficult. The climb up to the HP site was a little difficult, the rest not so much for a while. I kept going on Sabre Springs Pkwy, turning right on Springbrook Dr and taking this climb at more than my usual effort. To Scripps-Poway Pkwy, turning left and riding down to Pomerado Rd, where I turned left as well. On this road until I turned right onto Stone Canyon Rd to add a little more distance. Left on Del Norte, which turns into Avenida Florencia and took me to RB Rd. I turned left and rode down to Bernardo Center Dr and turned right there, home the normal way from there. This was not a great day on the bike, I tried to push on the climbs but without a lot of success.

Avg speed = 15.5 mph. Total mileage = 20.8 mi
Avg power = 148 W. Weighted avg power = 175 W
Total elevation gain = 1390'
Avg heartrate = 111 bpm (Coospo)
Relative Effort = 18
Training Load = 93
Intensity = 80%

Had some cereal and a banana for breakfast, then it was a chill morning. I packed up the Tapo cameras to return, got gas for the scooter, and went to the post office. Had a shower before taking the scooter to Convoy St to meet Charlie for lunch at Tasty Noodle House. Food was good (I paid). We talked about his trip to Scotland, general retirement life, my race last Sunday. Then I rode home and watched a little TV before heading over to feed the cats. Traffic was absolutely terrible, thankfully Ann drove. We drove home through light (thankfully) traffic. When I got home, I needed some destressing, so I went out for a walk around the neighborhood, to get my steps in. Keeping the step count above 10k is going to be a regular challenge, this watch is fairly meticulous about counting them. Later, we went to T&T for dinner with Rob and Isabelle. Dinner was a little late, but the conversation was good. Home after that, and bed.
