06-15-2025 Ride/Walk

Got up on an overcast foggy morning and got going for a bike ride early. Was on the road, on my Fuji, by 5:45. Rear brake was rubbing on my Canyon, thus the other bike. I rolled down the hill and found I couldn't shift to my upper chainring. So I stopped and did it manually, then stayed there for the rest of the ride. My legs were really tired and a little sore, so no records on this day. I rode the extended time trial route, spending time on the aero drops to feel more comfort there. It stayed overcast throughout and was foggy at times.

Avg speed = 16.4 mph (16.5 mph). Total mileage = 19.6 mi
Avg power = 139 W. Weighted avg power = 160 W
Total elevation gain = 1090' (1200')
Avg heartrate = 111 bpm (Coospo)
Relative Effort = 14 (14)
Training Load = 64
Intensity = 73%

Got done just before 7:00, which gave me a lot of time to have breakfast, clean the kitchen, shave, and shower before church. It was my last time seeing Ben Camp preach, and I stopped to wish him well after the service. Talked with a couple of people in the patio, then the three of us went to Pieology for Father's Day. Was a nice conversation and good pizza. On the way home, I figured out how to set up Android Auto on Ann's phone. It also works on mine, but I can't get the USB cable to stay connected, so more work needed there. Low-key early afternoon, then we drove down to Carlsbad to see a concert at Pilgrim UCC, with Tim Flannery opening and Berkley Hart Selis Twang as the main act. Tim was decent the main act was great. Good musicianship decent songs, and they all seemed to enjoy performing together. After the concert, we drove to downtown Carlsbad and had shave ice for dinner, then drove home. I went for an hourlong walk when we got back and talked to Laura about her job (big proposal for funding just completed) and Joe adjusting to his new job. Sounded like they had an enjoyable trip down to Florida, even though Laura was stressed about the proposal presentation.
