Went for a swim at the WWC when it opened, nobody else at the beginning or at the end, although there were a couple of swimmers who joined in the middle. Went for 3500 yds, and it was a chore. Normal protocol for the first 2000 yds, then I repeated 3 of the 4 segments for the second 1500. Seemed slower at the end, although I didn't have a lot of energy throughout. Finished in about 1:19, a pretty slow time but my first swim of this longer distance. My right shoulder was giving me a little trouble during the end of the first session with pads, but on the last 20 lengths with pads it was fine, I was just slow. I took it easy for a while when I got home. Started the next book in The Expanse series, Persepolis Rising, where decades have passed since the last book and Holden and Naomi hand over the Rocinante to Bobbie as captain. One of the ring worlds, Laconia, has been secretly using the protomolecule to make superhumans and advanced spacecraft, and they attempt to take over the human race. I worked in the backyard digging weeds for over an hour, still a ton of work to do back there. Ann and I went for a walk in the afternoon over to CVS, about 1.5 mi round trip, and got a snack.
