Woke up early (<>), then got ready for my bike ride with John. I headed over to his house following the traditional route via Aguamiel Rd and Duenda Rd (added in a little loop near his house, since I got there just a bit early). Didn't push the pace too hard but didn't let up either. All three of them were outside when I got there, but we didn't stay long before we took off. Headed up to Scripps-Poway Pkwy and then turned right to go further uphill before descending to the freeway. We took the bike path running north along the freeway over to Poway Rd, then Sabre Springs Pkwy to the 56 bike path. Took this all the way down to Carmel Valley Rd. I had a gel while we were waiting for the light at Black Mountain Rd. We turned on Carmel Valley Rd and took it back to Bernardo Center Dr. As we were climbing up to Black Mountain Rd, the sun finally came out, but it wasn't too hot. We rode to Camino del Norte and turned right there, taking it up to Pomerado Rd. My original route had us continuing on to Community Rd, but I accidentally turned right on Pomerado Rd and we kept going that way. To Poway Rd, turning right and riding down to Springbrook Dr, taking this climb for a change back toward his house. We turned on Springhurst Dr at the top and then rode back to his place the normal way from there. Jayden and Vivian were waiting with smoothies at the end, and they were, as usual, delicious. Jayden was wanting to look for and catch bugs. I didn't stay too long after I finished my smoothie, it was getting warm. Headed back the way I came, including turning on Bernardo Center Dr. Felt pretty good for having ridden 46 miles, the last of it with the day warming up.

I didn't have a lot of time after I got home before I needed to get ready for my volunteer shift at the hospital. The shift itself went smoothly, Lisa was the charge nurse, I'm not sure if I have worked with her before. Mario is one of the med techs, I've worked with him but we don't talk all that much. Got home and had my last solid food before two days of fasting in preparation for my colonoscopy.
