08-23-2024 Ride

This was designed to be an easy-paced ride, mission accomplished. It was also intended to test out the shifting and breaking capability of my old bike after having recabled it and tuned the shifting. Other than a couple of min or tweaks to the braking tension during the ride, it worked just about perfectly. I headed through the neighborhood, taking the Capilla Rd route, then to RB Rd, staying on it until Lone Quali Rd, where I kept going straight until reaching 4S Ranch Pkwy, where I turned right and rode down to Camino San Bernardo. A left there and over to Dove Canyon Rd, taking it to Carmel Valley Rd, where I rode up the two little climbs at moderate pace and then down the hill to turn right onto Camino del Sur. They are preparing this section of the road for repaving, and it was not the greatest surface to ride on. Made it fine, though, and I stayed on Camino del Sur until it turned into Camino del Norte, following it all the way to Bernardo Center Dr, where I turned left and rode home following the normal route from HP.

Avg speed = 15.2 mph. Total mileage = 19.5 mi
Avg power = 119 W. Weighted avg power = 154 W
Total elevation = 1540'
Avg heartrate = 109 bpm (Coospo)

The rest of the day was quiet. In the afternoon, I added the ability to show my Zone breakdown based on heart rate, not including any time that my power generation was zero. So, it's like a weight-averaged distribution. I also went for a nearly hour-long walk after dinner, it was a cool and beautiful evening. <>
