I woke up early enough to get some miles in before meeting up with John for the regular time trial loop. For the initial ride, I went through the neighborhood, using the Capilla Rd route, up to RB Rd, then I rode the extended route through 4S Ranch, including going up to the top of both Camino San Thomas and Four Gee Rd. I turned left when I got back to Camino del Sur, taking it to Camino San Bernardo to get back to RB Rd. Then I turned on Matinal Rd and rode down to Poblado Rd, where I turned left and took this alternative way back to Azucar Way. John wasn't there yet when I got back home, so I did a little loop around Creciente Way and Aguacate Way to Aguamiel Rd. It wasn't too much longer after I got back that he showed up, and then we rode the time trial loop. I dialed my pace back and rode with him for most of it, other than the sections on Rancho Carmel Dr and the little climb up Camino del Norte.

I had some more to eat when I got home, watched a little TV, and did the dishes. Then, in late morning and early afternoon, I got caught up on my blog. We had the McCaslin Family Book Club discussion of Amor Towles' The Lincoln Highway in the early afternoon. As long as you weren't looking for something that was believable, it was a good read. The characters were pretty well developed, in some cases a little too black-and-white for my taste. Later in the afternoon, the Guys came over for an early dinner, then we drove downtown to see Pink Martini at the Rady Shell. Kay and Ann together are a little annoying, Kay can talk for hours, and she can be repetitive. Since we had seen them on Wednesday, some of the same topics got rehashed. I was looking forward to the concert, but it was disappointing to me. It seemed very similar to the last time we had seen them at the Rady Shell, in August 2022. They had the same lineup, including guest vocalists Jimmie Herrod and Edna Vazquez. Hunter Nowak also made an appearance, and many of the songs (granted, they are staples for the band) were the same. Ann and Kay loved the concert, me and Earl not so much. I think I'm done with seeing them again. The drive home went smoothly, no traffic getting out of the parking lot.
