08-22-2024 Ride

Got up early for an early-morning bike ride, extended time trial loop where I pushed my pace more than usual but didn't go all-out. It was just starting to lighten up when I began, but the sky stayed overcast the entire time, and the weather was nice and cool. I did a little loop in the neighborhood at the end to get my total mileage to 20. Surprising to me, my Fitbit died while I was riding. I guess the Tuesday ride drained the battery more than I thought.

Avg speed = 17.3 mph. Total mileage = 20.1 mi
Avg power = 149 W. Weighted avg power = 175 W
Total elevation gain = 1070'
Avg heartrate = 119 bpm (Coospo)

When I got home, I spent some time cleaning the house, including wet sweeping the floors in the kitchen and den. I drove to Stater Bros and Sprouts to get items for the Bisikleta Board gathering. After I got home, I tried (ultimately unsuccessfully) to make some peach frozen yogurt. Even after more than 30 minutes of mixing in the Kitchen ice cream freezer, it never solidified, so I collected it and put it in containers in the freezer. In the afternoon, I had a fairly quiet time, chopping vegetables and making onion dip. I also spent some time coding, adding in the ability to chart my heartrate over the course of a ride. Ann and I had dinner, then a little after 6:30 folks started showing up. Of course, they brought food with them, and Gideon brought another bottle of wine. All the Board members were able to come (Jed later than the others) except for Rob, who was having dinner with Mary Pikl. It was a fun discussion, and we were able to cover the topics on the agenda pretty well.
