Woke up and got ready for a run. Down by the park and back for the typical 5k route. I ran faster than on Monday but didn't go all out. Not as much muscle soreness in my left calf, although I could feel it. I did increase my pace successively throughout the run, was pushing pretty hard on the climb back up to the house.

When I got home, I had enough time to eat some breakfast before getting ready to go to the WWC for a swim. This was intended to be 2000 yds at a fairly leisurely pace. I skipped the swim pads and used the snorkel for the second half. It seemed to me that swimming with the snorkel was slower than free swimming, and I don't think it was just because it was the second half. Finished in about 41 minutes, it was also hard for me to keep track of both my swim stroke and the number of lengths I swam. Later in the morning, I drove into Escondido, got gas, and then drove to the hospital to get my flu shot and to find out that I only need a TB test every four years. Then I drove home and had a light lunch. Was tired from waking up early (about 4:30) and exercising, so I had a nap before getting ready to head over to my dental cleaning. The appointment start was delayed about 20 minutes, but the hygienist was fairly quick and businesslike. I was out of there around 4:00, stopped at Stater Bros to get some wine, then headed to the HP back parking lot to meet Blair for a ride. I was a little late but not too bad. We headed down Bernardo Center Dr to Carmel Valley Rd, taking it up to Black Mountain Rd. I was slow for most of the ride, tired and trying to stay with Blair. We turned left and rode over to Park Village Dr, turning right there. I dropped my chain but got it back on quickly and caught up with Blair. We rode to Camino del Sur and turned right, taking the gradual climb slowly, up to the 56 bike path. We headed west there to Salmon River Rd, using it to get back to Carmel Valley Rd. Then we took this back to Camino del Sur and turned left, riding at modest pace back to Paseo del Sur. Through that neighborhood, then Camino del Sur to RB Rd. Back to HP using Via del Campo, and Blair was definitely done at the end of this ride.

I was happy not to have to ride home. Drove back, had a little dinner, then I headed over to Gideon's house to hang out while others tried the Eliel bike kits on. Jhonar was there, along with other Decision Board members. Gideon has a nice setup for entertaining in his back yard, and they grilled a lot of meat. I ate cheese and kimchi, had some shots of tequila and some rye whisky. The others dithered a lot about the kit fit, and I left a little before 10:00. It was a long day.
