Woke up, thought about going for a run but decided to have a walk instead. Walked around the neighborhood for a little over 45 minutes, then got ready for a swim at the WWC when I got home. It was really overcast in the morning, so only two swimmers at the start. I did 2000 yds, the first 500 with swim pads. I intended to do the last 500 using my pull buoy, but I only did the first 250 of the last 500 before finishing. The swim pads slowed me down, I think. No swim snorkel, and I noticed in the last 250 that my stroke was pretty ragged, probably because I haven't been swimming distances uninterrupted as much as in the past. Still, I finished in a little under 39 minutes, felt decent about that time. When I got home, I took a short break, had a cup of coffee, then changed the light bulb in the garage door opener. That was an easy one, followed by the harder task of painting the front gate. I used the eggshell paint left over from what the painters used on the wood trim. It was steady work for a couple of hours, took longer than I thought it would. Still, it looked decent when I finished it. I also replaced all of the plastic top caps with new ones I had purchased a while back. I ate a very light lunch after that, then Ann and I went to Target to pick up a couple of items. Watched some TV when I got home from that, then I changed the oil in my scooter, it had been about 800 miles since the last oil change. No issues there, should be good for at least another 6 months. In the evening, I cleaned up around the gate, the rode my scooter over to Los Panchos to have dinner with Earl, Paul Lorson, Gary Beckman, Marty Colling, and Steve Palmer. Conversation was decent, perhaps a little too focused on fishing for my taste. The ride home in the dark was a little unnerving, as the scooter doesn't have a very powerful headlight. But I made it home safely.
