10-11-2024 Swim/Run

Woke up with a nice greeting to the morning (<>) and got ready to head over to the WWC for a swim and subsequent run. Avi met me there, and we initially had the pool to ourselves until several others showed up. Started with a warm-up 250, followed by 5 100s at about 1:45 pace on a 2:00 schedule. Then we did some swim stroke lengthening exercises followed by some exercises for me to practice breathing on the right side. Finished up with an easy 250. I was pretty tired out from the workout, so my subsequent 5k run was at a more modest pace, although each mile was faster than the previous.

Avg pace = 8:25/mi
Total distance = 3.15 mi
Elapsed moving time = 26:31
Avg heartrate = 145 bpm (Fitbit)

Ann left for the beach shortly after I got home, so it was a relaxed quiet time around the house, which was nice after such a busy week. I decided to go get some lunch while the painters were on their lunch break, and this is when the trouble started. While I was at the restaurant in 4S Ranch, Ann texted me and said Kris was on his way to the house to look at the damage by the skylight. Since I wasn't there, she got upset because she had asked me to stay around the house. We argued about it when she got home from the beach, I made my points and she made hers. I had done the house painting inspection before the painters left and gave it the clearance, which allowed her to text the roofers and let them know the house was clear for finishing up their work next week. So, it was a particularly quiet afternoon and evening. I cleaned out the garage before Ann came home and went to have a beer in the late afternoon at Karl Strauss with Avi. We talked about some of the program management dynamics at Oura, he shared some of his frustrations, and I offered some advice and observations. I was able to get home before it got too dark.
