10-22-2024 Virtual Ride

Was awoken at 4:00 by Ann's alarm for our travel, so I decided to ride on the trainer for half an hour. It took a while to set up, including putting the pedals back on after charging them. I tried several times to get MyWhoosh to work but it kept crashing, frustrating. So I just used my Wahoo Elemnt at Level 0 and 1 to spin. Started out with a number of stops while I was trying to connect to MyWhoosh, then I got in a rhythm at 18-18.5 mph. Rode for about 35 minutes, almost got to 10 miles, and I was soaked through at the end.

Avg speed = 15.8 mph. Total mileage = 9.5 mi.
Avg power = 162 W. Weighted avg power = 180 W
Training Load = 36
Intensity = 78%

Had a shower and finished putting things in my bags, including bike stuff, then I did a final kitchen clean and ate some breakfast before we left the house around 5:50. No traffic heading down to parking lot, and we got to the airport and through security without issues. First flight was on time, second one out of Phoenix had to pull back to the gate because of a sick passenger. That delayed us by 35 minutes or so, then we were airborne. Flight was uneventful, listened to music for the most part and worked on ordering and selecting old photos to keep stored on the MicroSD card on my phone. It's mindless and ideal to do while traveling. We flew into Dulles and, with the help of a Metro employee, bought two weeklong passes for trains and busses. It was a long ride into the city, about an hour, and we stopped for Asian fast food (a good place called ChiKo) before getting a small stock of groceries from a little market and walking from there to the Airbnb. This is a really nice one, Sherry is the host (therapist with relatable personality and ties to Houston and California). It's well laid out and well stocked, particularly the food in the kitchen. Looks lived in, but that might just be the accumulated stuff items that Sherry has put in it over the 7 years she's been hosting. I watched a little basketball in TV, then we went to sleep.
