I woke up late, having stayed up the previous night to watch the end of a college football game. We got ready to head over to Liz's place in Arlington, stopping at Trader Joe's to get some flowers first. Took the Metro there from East Market, it was a 15-20 minute walk from the station. We had a nice brunch and catch-up conversation. She's still connected with Dan, is close to Katie, Joe, and their kids, a little less so with David, who lives in Denver. Dan moves around a lot, has a girlfriend who's a little strange. Liz bought a birthday cake for Ann, a nice touch. She has a nice little dog, Mario. After the brunch we walked back toward the Rosslyn Metro station, but because of the marathon the area was super crowded. So we walked over to the Court House station and got on the train, no problem. Curiously, there weren't many people getting on at the next stop, not sure how the crowds were cleared up. We walked back through the Eastern Market, Ann walked back to Trader Joe’s while I went directly to the flat. Some downtime before we walked back to the Eastern Market area for a birthday dinner out at a Spanish food restaurant. Ann liked her food, mine was meh. Good conversation over dinner about friend circles, then we walked back to the flat for a quiet rest of the evening.
