Woke up and hung around the house while Laura and Joe got ready to drive up to LA to see some of Laura's university friends. As soon as they left, I went for a bike ride, a little faster pace where I tried to keep pedaling throughout, including on the downhill sections. I headed through the neighborhood and then on the extended route through the 4S Ranch neighborhood to get to Camino del Sur, turning right and staying on it until I turned right onto Carmel Valley Rd. I took it down to the 56 bike path and started heading back. On the ride up the bike path, there were a bunch of kids and parents on bikes coming the other way, probably training for the ride out on the old stagecoach route. I rode up to Camino del Sur and turned there, using it to get back to Carmel Valley Rd, where I turned right and headed up the hill toward Black Mountain Rd. Rode over to Dove Canyon Rd, where I turned left and took that climb to get over to RB Rd, and from there it was home the normal way via W Bernardo Dr. Felt pretty good at the end, even after having pedaled almost the entire way.

Ann was at church when I got home, so I had some lunch and watched a little TV, then got caught up on the list of notable activities I/we did in 2024. The rest of the day was pretty quiet, which was nice from having entertained Laura and Joe the past few days.
