Woke up and got ready for a swim at the WWC. Had a couple of pumpkin muffins for breakfast, then I rode over. I warmed up with a 500, then I swam a 200 at 3:45 pace, followed by a 100 at 1:47, then another 200 at about 3:45. I finished with a 500 using the pull buoy and focusing on long stroke lengths. It was difficult keeping my stroke count low during the tempo swimming. After I rode home, I got ready to do some Christmas shopping. I rode my scooter, and on the ride I lost a pair of readers and an eyeglass case. Sigh! Headed to the thrift store on E Valley Pkwy and picked up a used crock pot in good condition for $6. Then I rode over to the hospital and got some earrings for Ann. Home from there, where I hung out around the house for a while. Ann went to Mah-Jongg in the early afternoon, and I ended up going for a bike ride around 3. Through the neighborhood to RB Rd, then through the 4S Ranch neighborhood taking the Ralphs Ranch Rd route and staying on Paseo del Sur until Potomac Ridge Rd, where I turned left and then right onto Nicole Ridge Rd. To Camino San Bernardo, which I used to ride over to Dove Canyon Rd. Down the hill and then up the climb to Black Mountain Rd, turning left there. I was riding at less than tempo pace but not completely slowed down. I rode to Twin Trails Dr and turned right there, it took me to Carmel Mountain Rd, where I turned left and rode over to the 56 bike path, heading west from there. It was a short ride to Camino del Sur, and I turned there and started heading home. All the way back to Camino San Bernardo, then home the normal way via W Bernardo Dr from there. It was a little longer ride than I had planned, which was all good.

I got back at dusk, hung around for a little bit before showering and driving over to Los Panchos to have dinner with the UMM guys (Earl, Ben L., Andy, Gary, Marty). It was a better conversation this time, talked about woodworking with Andy, some about camping and bike riding as well. I drove home after dinner.
