03-17-2025 Swim/Run

Got up in the middle of the night and watched the end of an Endeavour episode. I'm hungry in the middle of the night as well, still working through jet lag effects. I got ready for a swim at the WWC, looked all over for my action camera and eventually found it under the bed in the office, it must have fallen off the bed where I put it. There was a big line of people waiting to sign up for summer camp, but they had a different line to be in, so no delay. I swam an initial 500, then a set of 5 100s every 2:30 (so 45-50 seconds of rest in between), then a final 550 with the push buoy. Even with the push buoy, my stroke count was 19-20, was more like 18-19 on the 100s. I could feel it in my shoulders after this workout. Here are the splits: 9:05, 1:38, 1:41, 1:41, 1:41, 1:43, 9:15, 0:56. After the swim, I changed into my running gear and ran the 5k route at decent but not all-out pace. Felt a little winded going up the small climbs on this run, since all of my running in Japan was relatively flat.

Avg pace = 7:48/mi
Total distance = 3.12 mi
Elapsed moving time = 24:21
Avg heartrate = 147 bpm (Coospo)
Relative Effort = 31

Made some coffee when I got home, that tasted really good. I worked in the back yard, continuing to weed one of the bark-covered beds. Later, I also gave my bike a wipe-down and had an extended nap and reading time, probably not so good for getting over jet lag. Evening was also a quiet one, with more dozing off. Not sure why I was so tired on this day.
