Slept well, got up a little early and ate breakfast. Then I got ready for a run. It was colder than I thought it would be once I got outside. I was intentional about starting fast, and it was made easier by running downhill toward the park. I ran around the park twice, then headed back home. Felt good throughout, but that last run uphill on Aguamiel Rd was a chore.

I was home before 7:30, had a little time to get ready for a swim at the WWC. Ann was sleeping in the office, so I was quiet as I got my stuff out of it. I had the pool to myself at the start and the two adjacent lanes remained free throughout. For the first 1000, I tried to use a lengthened stroke, around 18. Was successful but slower. On the second 1000, I went back to 20 strokes and was marginally faster than the second 500. Still, this was a slow 2000 for me, really felt ragged on the last 500. Here are my splits: 9:36, 10:02, 9:52, 9:59. It's a little surprising how quickly my long-distance swimming form degraded over the 3 weeks I was out of the pool. Watched a little March Madness in the morning, then Ann and I headed over to Oggi's Pizza on Rancho Carmel Dr to meet Dennis, Karen, John, and Vivian for lunch while the NCAA basketball tournament was on TV. We actually didn't watch much TV, spent more time talking. I was sitting by Karen, so we chatted a lot about how things are going. After lunch, I didn't capture much of what I did, so am assuming it was a relatively quiet afternoon and evening, probably with watching some more basketball but not much else.
