03-18-2025 Ride

Woke up after a decent night's sleep, interrupted by a period where I got up and watched some TV. I was supposed to meet Andy at his place for a coffee ride, but it wasn't until 9:00. Got ready and started over there around 8:40, taking the time trial route to Bernardo Oaks Dr. We left from his place a little after 9:00 and headed over to Pomerado Rd via Rios Rd. This was an easy-paced ride where I followed him and his pace for most of it. Up to Ted Williams Pkwy, turning right there and taking it to Rancho Carmel Dr, where we turned and got onto the 56 bike path. We rode down to Camino del Sur and turned right there to get to the Peet's Coffee in the shopping center on the northwest corner of the 56 and Camino del Sur. We talked about Roya and her two daughters Rasa and Raha, they met via an online dating site. He seems happy, no plans to get married as far as I can tell, both like their independence. Then we headed back using Camino del Sur to Carmel Valley Rd, then up Bernardo Center Dr into RB, turning on Lomica Dr and taking several surface streets in his neighborhood to get back to his house. I rode home reversing the route I had taken to get there. I'm hoping to make this a regular occurrence ride with Andy.

I had a light lunch - some cheese and crackers - when I got back, then I went into the back yard and continued weeding. Finished up the first bed as well as the pea gravel path. There are still two more beds back there, the other one with bark doesn't look so bad, and I intend to turn over the soil in the bed with decomposed granite. While I was out there, the appliance repair guy came and fixed our microwave, it wasn't cheap. Then Ann and I went to 7-Eleven and got Slurpees with a discount code from T-Mobile. We thought both were free, but apparently our account only got one free. The guy ended up giving both of them to us for free. Quiet evening.
