03-23-2025 Run

Had a decent night's sleep, decided on a donut run when I got up, while it was still dark. I drove to Shipley in Crosby and ate the donuts on the drive back. It was starting to lighten up when I got to the lake house, so I got ready for a slow run through the neighborhood. Pace was 2 minutes per mile slower that the previous day, but I still felt like I was working out. Legs and feet held up and also told me that I could use a rest day on Monday.

Avg pace = 9:26/mi
Total distance = 4.51 mi
Elapsed moving time =42:31
Avg heartrate = 132 bpm
Relative Effort = 16

It was overcast and muggy during the run, and I worked up a good sweat. Had a shower when I got back and finished a book, Resurrection Walk, by Michael Connelly. It was decent, not great literature, but the pacing moved quickly and had a happy ending. Mickey Haller and Harry Bosch were both featured in the book, about a lady wrongly accused of murdering her ex-husband, a gang-affiliated sheriff's deputy. And I started Infinity Gate, by M.R. Carey, a sci-fi book about existence in a multiverse called the Pandominion. The day was a quiet one, spent talking with Mom and, later, Ross. She rested a lot, and I watched some NCAA basketball. Made dinner for her, pesto pasta and garlic bread. They weren't great, but she ate pretty well. In the evening I went out for a short-ish walk to get my steps in.
