Woke up after sleeping through the night, the previous day had been a busy and tiring one. I had oatmeal and coffee for breakfast, then checked in the garage to see if there were any problems with my Assioma pedals. Nope. I charged them, not sure what the glitch was that disconnected them from my Wahoo, but I'll keep and eye out. Ann was still asleep, so I got ready for what I planned to be a leisurely-paced bike ride. Switched out the battery in my heartrate monitor to get it back working. Rode my Canyon, down by the park and over to Highland Valley Rd, turning there and riding up part of the first climb before it gets steeper. Turned around and rode back to Pomerado Rd. I don't feel like I was going too hard on this initial stretch, and I kept my pace dialed back somewhat after the left turn. I think I started pushing a little harder, still not all-out, on the gradual climb up to the hospital. On the descent after that I kept pedaling instead of coasting, over to Poway Rd. From here I took the time trial route home with the exception of turning right onto Carmel Mountain Rd. Was quite slow up the little hill after the turn onto Camino del Norte but from the top of that hill I rode harder than usual all the way home and could tell that I was riding on tired, but not sore, legs.

Ann was up when I got home, thankfully. The rest of the morning and afternoon were spent around the house, not doing much, reading and watching some TV. I did take a nap in the afternoon, was still tired from the previous day. We had dinner with Emily and Caleb at Best Pizza & Brew in Carmel Mountain Ranch, was good to catch up with them.
