Slept pretty well well after a somewhat busy day (<>). Got ready for a solo bike ride, since John wasn't available. Headed through the neighborhood, staying on Matinal Circle until the end and then going up W Bernardo Dr and RB Rd. Extended route the 4S Ranch neighborhood to CdS. Standard route from here to the coast using San Dieguito Rd and VdlV. I was trying to ride at a more relaxed speed, not always successfully. Got down to PCH and turned right, rode into Del Mar and took the route by the park for a change. It was misty and after I stopped to take a picture of the ocean it started to rain. Wasn't heavy but I started getting wet, and the roads were wet and dirty. Through del Mar, stopped at the restrooms at the State Beach parking lot, then took the old way to the 56 bike path, avoiding the underpass that can flood. Was measured in my pace back to Carmel Valley Rd, where I turned left and headed back to CdS. It continued to sprinkle occasionally, and roads were wet. Back to Paseo del Sur, turning here and riding through the neighborhood to CdS again. Home via the RB Rd and W Bernardo Dr route. Was starting to get hungry at the end of the ride, since I didn't bring anything with me. Legs held up, was just more tired at the end than usual.

Got home and change out of wet clothes, I wasn't soaking wet but it was uncomfortable. Cut up the vegetables for grilling and put them in the marinade, then had a shower and got ready for my volunteer shift at the hospital. Fortunately it wasn't raining on the way over. Nothing out of the ordinary at the hospital, I was regularly busy but never swamped. Ended up staying a little late to clean a room. Emily was there when I got home, we chatted when Ann did the grilling (thankfully, I was pretty tired). We had a nice chat, mostly about how things are going with them, at church, and at work. Went for a short walk after dinner, then more talking. I was less involved in the chat then, was ready to call it a day and relax for a bit. Ended up watching some TV after she left before turning in.
