10-14-2025 Swim

Had a pretty good sleep, did wake up and read in the middle of the night, but I slept well in the early morning. Got up, cleaned the kitchen and took out the trash before heading over to the WWC for a swim with Avi. Before the gates opened, I talked a little with Ken, along with Jason Waldie, who also did the MB Sprint Tri this past weekend. This was a light workout day for me, focusing on getting some distance in and trying (not entirely successfully) to keep my stroke count low. We started off with a warm-up 250, then did the pyramid drill, trying to stay on the 1:00/50 yd times but slipping the time once for me. Then we finished up with a cool-down 250, using a pull buoy. Total swimming time, from video, was 32:47 for 1750 yds.
Warm-up 250
    4:45
Pyramid Drill
    50    0:48
    100  1:48
    150  2:50
    200  3:52
    250  4:48
    200  3:52
    150  2:54
    100  1:46
    50    0:50
Cool-down 250 (with pull buoy)
    4:34

Avg pace = 1:52/100 yds (Video, not counting pauses)
Total distance = 1750 yds
Elapsed moving time = 32:47 (Video)
Avg heartrate = 172 bpm (Zepp, not to be believed)
Relative Effort =  117 (not to be believed)
SWOLF = 39
Avg stroke rate = 21 bpm
Avg pull distance = 2.30 yds

It was good to get some distance swimming in, this is my plan to work on for the next couple of months, building out to being able to do 3000 yds in under an hour. Had some coffee and poppy seed bread for breakfast when I got home (I'd eaten a banana before leaving for the WWC), then I tackled some yard work tasks: mower repair, mow the grass and take out some weeds, winterize mower, clean and organize sprinkler supplies. I also cleaned out the area along the east side of the garage, it looks a little better. Watched some TV in the afternoon and did some computer work. We went out to dinner at Burma Place because I didn't want to have another night of doing lots of dishes. Instead, after dinner I baked a loaf of banana bread, wet-mopped the downstairs except for the dining and living rooms, and cleaned the kitchen in preparation for Emily coming for dinner on Wednesday. That took up most of the evening.
