Slept better on this night, after taking Ann's suggestion and using a decongestant inhaler before going to bed. It took a while, but the vapor dried up the fluid in my sinuses. They were still stuffy but not as wet. I woke up several times in the night, ate some cereal at one of them, read some in several others, and woke up after 7:00. Got ready for another ride, with John and Dave. This time, I bundled up at the start, turned out to be overkill. Rode up Azucar Way and then turned left on Duenda Rd to follow, initially, the normal way to John's house. I was taking it easy, not pushing the pace that much. Was ahead of time, so I took Poway Rd to Springhurst Dr, turned left and then right onto Sabre Springs Pkwy, riding down to Springbrook Dr, turning left there and riding up this climb to the top of Springhurst Dr, then to John's house the normal way from there. Still got there early, chatted a little bit with John until Dave came out, then we headed out on our ride together. Up the usual way to the top of Pomerado Rd. I dialed my pace back to stay either with or near the others, often letting them ride in front and then riding to catch up to them. We took Pomerado Rd downhill and across the freeway, turning onto Kearny Villa Rd and enjoying a tailwind for a while, all riding pretty much together. We stayed on Ruffin Rd and took it to Clairemont Mesa Blvd, turning right there and starting to head back. To Kearny Villa Rd, turning right there and taking it back to the left turn to stay on Kearny Villa Rd. It was here where Dave kinda ran out of gas, so the return on this road was pretty slow. Back to Pomerado Rd, where the climb to the top was similarly slow, with Dave crawling up the last bit. I tried to ride at his pace, but it was difficult. Back to John's house the normal way from there, where Vivian made us smoothies and told us about their two Thanksgiving meals, one with a neighbor who is trained as a professional chef. Then I rode home the normal way, via Bernardo Center Dr, from there, at slow pace, feeling a little tiredness in my legs. Ann was just arriving home as I got there.

It was after my usual lunchtime when I got home, and I was pretty hungry. Had leftover potatoes and stuffing for lunch, quite tasty. Watched some TV, first episode of The Wire. In the mid-afternoon I made curried barley and red lentils for dinner. Served with Basmati rice, they turned out well. Watched some TV and read in the evening. I fell asleep kinda early but woke up for a bit later (<!!>).
