12-24-2025 Virtual Ride

Was glad to not have to do Christmas shopping on this day. I took it easy getting up, had cinnamon rolls for breakfast, then I went out into the garage and did a 47-minute workout on MyWhoosh. Originally planned to go for an hour but was flagging by the end. Virtual course went around old Kyoto, did 3 5-mile loops and that was it. For some reason my heartrate monitor didn't synch with MyWhoosh.

Avg speed = 19.7 mph. Total mileage = 15.8 mi
Avg power = 189 W. Weighted avg power = 194 W
Total elevation gain = 440'

Had some time to relax before getting ready for my volunteer shift at the hospital. It was really busy at the start, the first hour and a half flew by. Had more downtime after that, and then it got busy near the end. I was lucky to avoid any serious rain riding over mad back, it started to rain just as I was pulling into the hospital parking lot. Dinner and some quiet time where I worked on updating my old diary, then Ann and I went to church early because there was supposed to be a gathering of folks in between evening services. Nope, it was just a small group of people with some light snacks. I ended up talking to Paul Gerard for most of the time, he's a fairly interesting fellow (Teradata). I watched the bells and choir practice, then sat with Ann and Emily at the 11:00 service. Emily's solo was really outstanding, she put a lot of time into doing a great job, and she delivered. Talked a little bit with Earl after the service while Ann put the bells away. He seems in a good spot, slowly healing from his back surgery but now dealing possibly with a case of myasthenia gravis. Will get full diagnosis after the holidays. Home after that, and to bed.
