12-30-2025 Swim

Slept okay but woke up hungry in the very early morning and ate some cereal. I read for a good bit as well before getting back to sleep. Got ready for a swim at the WWC, read some NY Times articles as well. The weather was weirdly overcast and warm, near 60 deg! There were a couple of rain drops falling on us as we waited for the gates to open. This was an interval training day for me, focusing on keeping my stroke length long. Here are the details of a 1500 yd swim that had an elapsed moving time of 26:54. I was consistently faster in all of the speed drills than when I swam with Avi on 12-18, so some progress has been made.

Warmup 250

    2:09
Cool-down 300 (with pull buoy)
    5:40

Avg pace = 1:48/100 yds (Video)
Total distance = 1500 yds
Elapsed moving time = 26:54 (Video)
Avg heartrate = 143 bpm (Zepp, reasonable)
Relative Effort =  33 (reasonable)
SWOLF = 40
Avg stroke rate = 20 bpm
Avg pull distance = 2.29 yds

Got home and had some breakfast before going to see a movie, Marty Supreme, with Ann at the Regal in Escondido. The movie was entertaining, a suspension-of-disbelief film in which the main character wasn't so lovable. Not much in the early afternoon after we got home, then Avi texted me, and I met him for a beer and conversation at Phil's BBQ. Was a nice conversation, no others were around. The evening was quiet.
