Slept well again, still a little congestion but not enough to disturb my sleep. Thankfully, no coughing fits yet, hoping it stays that way (<!>). Got ready for a solo bike ride, no John this time. Headed through the neighborhood to Matinal Rd, making the route up as I went. Over to W Bernardo Dr, then up the hill and past the HP site to get to Bernardo Center Dr. Right turn there, then a left onto Camino del Norte, which I took to Twin Peaks Rd, eventually turning right onto Midland Rd. Over to Poway Rd and beyond, turning on Poway Creek Rd, to Creek Vista Dr, then I used a sidewalk to get over to Community Rd. Headed south there to Metate Ln, taking it over to Pomerado Rd. A left turn, then a right turn onto Old Pomerado Rd and through this quirky neighborhood to get to the access road that brought me to Scripps-Poway Pkwy. I climbed up past Springbrook Dr and up to the top before descending down toward the freeway. Before I got to Spring Canyon Rd I hit something in the bike lane and immediately flatted my front tire. Took about 15 minutes to replace the tube, and I found out I was only carrying one inner tube. That caused me to rethink my route and shorten it, so I turned on the bike path east of the freeway and rode it over to Poway Rd, taking this up to Sabre Springs Pkwy, where I turned left. On a whim I turned left on Evening Creek Dr and then left again onto Sabre Hill Dr, which has a nice little climb up to a neighborhood on the hill. This road loops back to Evening Creek Dr, where I turned left and rode back to Sabre Springs Pkwy. Headed north there to Rancho Carmel Dr, then took a right on Carmel Mountain Rd and rode through CMR and past the high school on Paseo Lucido, staying on this road until turning right onto Bernardo Heights Pkwy to get to Bernardo Center Dr. Headed toward home but ended up doing a little loop through the neighborhood off to the right of the library, to get a little extra distance in. Back to Bernardo Center Dr, then down Duenda to W Bernardo Dr, turning right there because they were paving the street in our neighborhood. Back home via Aguamiel Rd. Not a high-intensity workout on this day, took the pace easy and didn't have a lot of drive to push any harder.

Got home before 10:00 and watched TV before getting ready for my volunteer shift at the hospital. It was kinda slow in the first half of the shift, then it picked up somewhat and was really busy the last hour. Still, I was able to leave on time and get home before dark. Quiet evening, watching some TV and coming up with the proposed Bisikleta awards to review with Perse.
