12-12-2025 Entry

Got up a little after 6:00, had a little breakfast, then started cleaning. I cleaned the dishes, then scrubbed the counters thoroughly. Next I scrubbed the kitchen floor, using a scrubber to hit the hot spots first before using the power wet vacuum. Did the rest of the downstairs floors and carpets, that was tiring as well. Ann was up by this point, and she started cleaning as well. Then it was into the back yard for me, starting with clearing out a bunch of mushrooms and some weeds in the grass, the former were kinda gross. Then I swept off the patio, removed one of the patio pavers to cut out a pine tree root that was pushing it up. It's better but not quite right yet. Finished sweeping the patio and the sidewalk along the side of the house, then I arranged the chairs and tables for the party on Saturday. Needed a break after that, so I went upstairs and rested for a bit, then came downstairs and had some soup for lunch. I read after lunch, then drove to Walmart in Escondido to pick up a couple of gifts for the party, stopping at Aldi afterwards to get some of my regular supplies. Home after that, no traffic, where I watched some TV before dinner and then talked to Mom for quite a while. She sounded better at the end of the call, was happy to hear that we are planning on coming for a visit in January. Evening was quiet, it was good to have a rest day with no exercise, I think it helped my general recovery.
