First day of jury duty. I woke up at 5:45 and had a big breakfast, then rode over to the RB Transit Center on my scooter to catch the express bus going downtown. All on time, and I got to the jury room just a little early before the 7:45 call time. There was an 8-week trial that I didn't want to be on, but I ended up getting called into the courtroom for a 3-week civil case. Not great, but I couldn't figure out an honest reason not to serve. We spent the day in court answering questions from the judge and the lawyers. Voir dire finished at the end of the day, and I was able to run and catch my bus back to the RB Transit Center. Home around 5:45,was a long day for me, likely not the first in the coming days and weeks. Watched some TV after dinner to unwind.
