Got home, had some toast, and made coffee to take over to the HP site cafeteria to chat with Brooke, John, and Gary. She and her family had a good time on their Panama Canal cruise, it doesn't seem like something I would want to do. Every other day was fully on the ship. When I got home, I did a few things in the garage, then Ann and I went to Dollar Tree in Escondido and got some items to help us make table lanterns for the Bisikleta Christmas party. Ate lunch when I got home, then got ready for a ride with Paula. I rode over to meet her at Harmony Grove Park. Headed down by the park and over the freeway to Via Rancho Pkwy, turning left and taking it to Felicita Rd. I rode over to the freeway, turning left on Gamble Ln. I stayed on this road, intending to take it up near Citracado Pkwy, but the road was closed for construction, so I rode back down to Bernardo Ave and turned left there, taking it to 11th Ave and then over to Del Dios Rd, where I turned left and then right on Avenida del Diablo. Over to Citracado Pkwy, staying on it until turning onto Harmony Grove Rd and staying on it with another left turn. I rode down along the neighborhood and pulled into the Park's parking lot. Waited about 8 minutes until Paula showed up, then she got ready. We took Harmony Grove Rd, with a little bit of a tailwind, to Elfin Forest Rd, where the climbing started up to San Elijo Hills village. I didn't have to wait too long for her, even though I took the climbs at moderate effort. We rode down San Elijo Rd to Melrose Ave and turned right there, over to Boulderidge Dr, taking this road to Rsd Rd. Right turn, and another tailwind to help us up the climb to the Lake San Marcos neighborhood. Turned right on Camino del Arroyo Dr and waited for Paula. I won't detail all of the roads we took through this neighborhood, but there was some pretty climbing to get near its top. Eventually we got over to Santa Barbara Dr and turned left to get to Craven Rd. Right turn took us onto the CSUSM campus, where we took a left on Campus View Dr, following it until it turned into (old) Barham Dr, never been on this road before. Took Shelley Dr until we got onto a bike path that took us by Jack's Pond, where we stopped for some pics. We followed the path into a parking lot, with a super steep little climb up to E La Moree Rd. We turned left there and rode down to Barham Dr. Followed it to Meyers Ave, turning right and taking it to Auto Park Way. We rode up to Citracado Pkwy and powered up the hill to the hospital. Then it was down to Harmony Grove Rd, retracing my earlier route back to the park. The gate was closed, since it was after hours at the park. Very luckily for Paula, they left the gate unlocked so we could get the car out of the parking lot.
