12-11-2025 Run

A good sleep, better without so much caffeine. I did wake up in the early morning and read for a bit but got back to sleep and woke up around 5:40. Went downstairs, did the dishes and ate a banana, then went for a 5k run down by the park. Negative splits, last mile was sub-8 minutes.

Avg pace = 8:17/mi
Total distance = 3.21 mi
Elapsed moving time = 26:39
Avg heartrate = 125 bpm (Coospo)
Relative Effort = 8

I ate peanut butter toast for breakfast after showering, made coffee and took it with me to drink on the bus ride. More traffic on this day heading downtown. Still, I got to sit outside the courtroom a little after 8:30, talked to a couple of the jurors and alternates while we were waiting. We got into the courtroom just a little after 9:00, and the trial started. We were on an abbreviated day, went until noon, then took a short 30-minute break for lunch before continuing in the afternoon until 2:00. We were excused early, and I met Ann out in front of the courthouse to walk around downtown. We parked by the Midway and then walked over to the Maritime Museum, which Ann had never visited. It was a nice diversion, although I was a little slow moving around after the morning run. The Star of India was nice to walk through, along with the USS Dolphin. The other boats and ships were mildly interesting as well, lots of interesting displays on the Berkeley. Walked back to the car and then drove over to have dinner at Saffron Noodle House. Food was good, not as good as it originally was, when it was outstanding and inexpensive. From there we drove over to Balboa Park, parked by the Fleet Museum, and walked over to the Old Globe Theater to see Ebenezer Scrooge's Big San Diego Christmas Show. It was entertaining, not quite as funny as I hoped it would be, but it had some humorous moments. I was tired from a fairly long day, not used to sitting and paying attention for so long, so it's exhausting. Thankfully, Ann drove us back to the RB Transit Center, where I picked up my scooter and rode home. Watched just a little TV, then went to bed and wasn't in bed long before I was asleep.
