Got up, had breakfast, and got ready to head over to the WWC for a swim followed by a run. During the 2000 yd swim, I lost count of pool lengths in the second set, so I tried to get back on track on the third set. Still not sure I got the total number of lengths right, but I counted it as 2050 yds finished in over 41 minutes. I was swimming pretty hard, so I'm not sure what I'll need to do to get back substantially under 40 minutes. Then I changed into my running gear and ran a 5k route that I had mapped out previously. Felt decent on the run, was huffing and puffing though. I didn't go all out on the run but kept a steady pace.

When I got home, I went out in the backyard and listened to The Three Body Problem while I removed more weeds from one of the beds. This was slow going. I went in and had lunch, a burrito from Chipotle, then did some work on the computer to back up our key data files. While that was going on, I went back out and did some more weeding, this time it was a little more efficient. When I came back in, I readjusted my 401(k) fund portfolio based on the advice we got from Brett Everhart last week. Then, in the afternoon, I rode over to meet Blair for a ride. I used the traditional route, with the exception of entering the site at the main entrance and riding around the buildings to meet him behind B65. It was a little breezy, so I recommended riding initially south and west to have the wind at our backs on the return. We headed down Bernardo Center Dr to Carmel Valley Rd, where I got out ahead of him but wasn't pushing my pace too much. Then we turned onto Black Mountain Rd and took it to Park Village Dr. We turned right there and, after the little climb, had the nice gradual downhill to Camino del Sur. We turned there and climbed the gradual ascent back into the new neighborhood south of the 56. Once we reached the flats, I slowed down and rode at Blair's pace until we got to the little climb up to Carmel Valley Rd. Again, I was not riding hard but got ahead of him. From there, we rode together again until the climbs started before Paseo del Sur. I waited for him just past Casey Glen, and we rode together all the way back to RB Rd and then Via del Campo. I split off there, was riding on tired legs and continued down the hill to W Bernardo Dr. Home the normal way from there. Ann and I ate dinner together, she waited until I got home, which was nice. On this day, I did all three legs of a triathlon, although they were spread out.
